Who We Are
Committee for Education in the
21st Century is a volunteer-run, non-partisan,
citizen organization comprised of a Board of
Directors, representatives from each of the
Wellesley Public Schools and school supporters
throughout the Wellesley community.
The
Committee for Education in the 21st Century (the
successor to WISE ~ the Wellesley Initiative
Supporting Education) was launched in October 2005
as an advocacy group for the Wellesley Public
Schools. Support for education in Wellesley has
traditionally been strong. In 1990, the "Committee
for the 90's," was formed in response to proposed
cuts in the WPS budget. Since that time, the
Committee for the 90's and the ensuing group WISE
have organized advocacy on behalf of the WPS.

other important School Committee
decisions
