After last year's budget process, many town residents wanted to be involved earlier so as to understand the process and the decision points. In an effort to recognize and help focus this interest, a new advocacy group has formed:

The Committee for Education in the 21st Century

As did its predecessor WISE (Wellesley Initiative Supporting Education), the Committee will advocate for public school initiatives and funding in the town of Wellesley, with representatives from each of the nine public schools, in addition to other advocates for the Wellesley schools. The Committee will focus on providing information on upcoming meetings, decisions, and opportunities for public input and the ramifications of decisions before they happen.

This newsletter was initiated as part of the Yes for Wellesley campaign last spring, supported by WISE. The Committee for Education feels strongly that your privacy be respected and that only those who would like to continue to receive this information will do so.
