WHS
Building Project:
MAJOR
MILESTONE - PROJECT CONCEPT APPROVAL
The WHS
Building Project achieved a major milestone: The
MSBA Board voted to approve the WHS Building
Project Concept enabling the project to proceed
to schematic design. This is a significant step
forward and one which was achieved with great
collaborative effort.
Committee 21 has followed the proceedings of these
summer months very closely. While there have been
some compromises made, they have been fiscally
prudent and fair. We accept the decisions made and
are greatly encouraged by the progress. Above all,
the approved Project Concept enables a High School
building which meets the educational program of
today and into the future, greatly exceeding the
capability of the current facility.
Progress will continue at a rapid pace as the
School Building Committee readies a
comprehensive project submission to the MSBA
mid-September. An important meeting is
scheduled for August 20 at 7:30pm
in Town Hall to review progress drawings of
floor plans and exterior concepts. This will be
the opportunity to provide feedback on the final
designs of the project. We encourage you to
attend this meeting. Additional important dates
