The School Building Committee for the
Wellesley Middle School Capacity
Project has scheduled two
Informational Meetings to review the
options under consideration to be held on:
Wednesday, May 26, 2010
9:30 am and 7:30 pm
Wellesley Town Hall, Great Hall
(upstairs)
In a letter to the neighbors of Wellesley Middle
School, the SBC notes they are: "exploring
internal and external construction options in
order to address the reality of ever-increasing
enrollment while maintaining the integrity of
the academic program at the Middle School. Based
on current projections, a solution will need to
be in place by Fall 2011."
In April, the initial recommendation of the SBC
was withdrawn after considerable protest
by neighbors to the location and placement of
modular classrooms (see
report). Due
to the urgency to identify and proceed with a
plan to meet the capacity needs, the SBC
is holding these Informational Meetings
to clearly articulate the options under
consideration and to gain public input.
